New Market Library New Build
New Market, Virginia
Project Specifications:
4,512 Square Feet
Budget: $700,000
Completion: 2008
Lineage planned and designed the first insulated concrete form library in Virginia. In the design phase, Lineage incorporated much of the town’s culture and history into the aesthetic of the library. There were many green products used during the construction as well. For the sidewalks, Lineage used pervious pavement. This type of sidewalk eliminates some of the fines (small particles) used in standard sidewalk construction, allowing water to flow through the sidewalk and back into the earth below. Because the water flows through the walk, it doesn’t have an opportunity to sit on the walk and turn into ice.
