The Parade of Homes, the area's premier home showcase event, features products from area builders in seven categories, and presents awards for best interior, best exterior, best overall in class, and the prestigious President's Award, recognizing superior quality and craftsmanship.

Designed by Principal Architect Pennie Z. Garber, this custom residence received best in class, best interior and best exterior in division VII, the parade's premiere luxury category, as well as capturing the President's Award for best in show.

Lineage Architects adds new full time employee

Lineage Architects, P.C. is proud to announce, that Mr. Andrew Jayne has taken a full time position with their firm. A Waynesboro resident, Jayne, will provide architectural, civil, and structural engineering drafting support, as well as 3D imaging. Jayne earned a Drafting certificate from the Woodrow Wilson Center for Employment.

Lineage Architects, P.C. is a full-service architectural and engineering firm located in Verona, Virginia and serving areas throughout and beyond the Shenandoah Valley. 

In February 2010, Jonathan received certification as a Technical Service Provider through the USDA. Jon completed his certification in Manure and Wastewater Handling and Storage. USDA projects that use an approved TSP such as Jon, may qualify to have some or all of the engineering funds covered by the USDA. Technical assistance includes conservation planning and design, layout, installation, and checkout of approved conservation practices.

Principal Architect Wins Two New Certifications

Lineage Architects PC is proud to announce that Pennie Zinn Garber, AIA, LEED AP, NCARB, CSI, principal architect of the company, has recently received two additional certifications.

Garber has been approved for certification by the National Council of Architectural Review Boards.  NCARB certification facilitates reciprocal registration among all 54 NCARB Member Boards and 11 Canadian jurisdictions. Reciprocity is when a registered architect in one jurisdiction applies for registration in another jurisdiction by presenting documentation that he or she meets that jurisdiction's registration requirements. An NCARB Certificate means that an architect has met the highest professional standards established by the registration boards responsible for protecting the health, safety, and welfare of the public.

In addition, Garber has just been approved as a member of the Construction Specifications Institute.  CSI is a national association dedicated to creating standards and formats to improve construction documents and project delivery. The organization is unique in the industry in that its members are a cross section of specifiers, architects, engineers, contractors and building materials suppliers. CSI is renowned in the industry for its rigorous certification programs for professionals seeking to improve their knowledge of accurate and concise construction documents.

Lineage Architects PC is a five person firm located in Verona, Virginia, that provides architectural, civil and structural engineering services to the Shenandoah Valley and surrounding areas. Recent projects completed by the firm include the Scottsville Farmers Market Pavilion, New Market Library, Long’s Chapel at Zenda, and the  Frontier Culture Museum West African Exhibit.

Holly Rhodenizer has joined the team of Verona-based Lineage Architects PC.

A Mt. Sidney resident, Rhodenizer, will provide clerical and business development duties as the Office Manager. She has more then four years experience of administrative support, most recently with Fertig Cabinet Company in Harrisonburg. Rhodenizer earned a bachelor's degree at Eastern Mennonite University in Harrisonburg.

Founded in 2002, Lineage Architects provides architectural and engineering services in Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, North Carolina and Kentucky. The firm has five employees.

The Virginia Department of Minority Business Enterprise (VDMBE) has approved the certification of Lineage Architects, P.C. as a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) subject to the requirements of the DBE Regulation 49 CFR, Part 26 and all the laws of this state applicable to the transaction of business.

Energy efficiency is a hot topic in the business of green building, but a new wave of technology is making the idea of a "green" building that much easier. When it comes to making a home more energy efficient, solar and geothermal systems seem to be leading the way these days. But, there is another building trend that has been gaining ground, even in the midst of a bad building environment.

LEED Accredited Professional certification distinguishes building professionals with the knowledge and skills to successfully implement the LEED certification process. Each Accredited Professional has demonstrated a thorough understanding of green building practices and principles and the LEED Rating System.

The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Building Program was designed by the US Green Building Council to encourage and accelerate global adoption of sustainable green building and development practices.  LEED is a third party certification program and the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction and operation of high performance green buildings.  There are both environmental and financial benefits to earning LEED certification.

Lineage Architects, P.C. is a full-service architectural and engineering firm located in Verona, Virginia.  Lineage has been actively involved throughout its existence in environmentally responsible building design and construction, including the use of reclaimed antique materials, and the design of the New Market Library as a LEED project.  Mrs. Garber's achievement of LEED AP will allow the firm to continue and enhance these practices in many various projects and programs to lend to ongoing growth and beautification throughout the Commonwealth.
